THE JURIED ART SHOW 2009: Works on Paper
November 6-16, 2009

Entry Deadline: September 15, 2009

Eligibility:
Only RECENT ORIGINAL works on paper, including, but not limited to: printmaking, painting and drawing (no photography, please). Work must have been completed within the past two years.

Awards:
Cash Awards will be given for 1st place - $1,000; 2nd place - $500; and 3rd place $250. Selections made at the juror’s discretion.

Entry submission format:
JPEG images must be clear, professionally presented, and accurately represent the work. If work arrives that is different than the submission the organizers reserve the right to refuse it.
Please use the JPEG format where the largest dimension (length or width) should not exceed 1000 pixels and please set the image resolution at 72 dpi. Each image should be named as follows: artist’s last name_first name_entry number. For example; smith_mary_01.jpg, smith_mary_02.jpg, etc so that the numbers 01, 02, 03 correspond to the image list which should be a word document. (.doc) Adobe Photoshop will be used to open these images. Please list all included works on or in the CD case with number as on the hard copy entry form, artist’s name, and title of work, media and dimensions. The image list must also include artist contact information: address, phone number and email address. Paper submissions (hard copies) to be included: Short version of your CV with exhibition record over the past five (5) years, awards, grants, press etc. Recent artist statement corresponding to the submitted work not to exceed 250 words. 8 1/2×11-inch digital printouts of each of the works submitted. Image list. Please do not send fancy binders or bulky cases. CDs will not be returned.

Entry Fee:
A fee of $45 (non-refundable) must accompany application form. The entry fee entitles one artist to submit up to 3 works for consideration. Please make checks payable to: Central Art Supply Company.
Each artist selected to participate will receive an assortment of art materials, courtesy of Art Alternatives and Faber-Castell, equal in value to the entry fee.

Accepted Work:
All artwork must be for sale. Accepted work must be wired and ready to hang. After work has been accepted, a substitution cannot be made, nor a change in the sales price or title as stated on the application. Artwork must remain in the gallery for the entire exhibition. No early withdrawals. Works that are sold will be marked so.

Juror Background: Amanda Cooper
Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, Amanda Cooper received a BA with Highest Honors in Art History from the University of Florida in 1997. Since 1999, she has worked as Curator of Exhibitions at The Arts Center in St. Petersburg. During her ten years in this position, she has organized over 200 exhibitions, including works in all media by students, established, and emerging artists and children. She has organized rotating art exhibitions for the Mahaffey Theater Lobby, and served as co-team leader of the Art Mobile project for the Pinellas County Arts Council.

Amanda has also served as juror for various art exhibitions including Dunedin Art Harvest and the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards exhibition. She has served on art panels for Pinellas County, including several public art projects and individual artist grants, and in 2005 served on a panel recommending artists to the State of Florida, Division of Cultural Affairs, for Individual Artist Grants. In 2008, she was guest juror for A Sense of Place, a national exhibition organized by the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art in Augusta, GA.

Liability Terms:
Submitting an entry to The Works on Paper Show constitutes an agreement with all conditions, and releases officers, employees and representatives from any and all claims, which may occur by reason of loss, or damage to said work of art while in possession or control of this show. Central Art Supply Co. and The Studio@620 assume the right to photograph an accepted work for promotion of the show or catalog only.

Sales Promotions:
Upon selection, your work will be represented at The Studio@620 and remain so for the duration of the show. The Studio@620 is committed to the sale of artwork. The Studio@620 will receive 30% commission on sales directly attributed the show.
