Imago Artists Update

December 21st, 2007 · 1 Comment

A brief update: Wednesday’s fundraiser at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center for the Imago Art Gallery artists took in over $25,000 in ticket, drink, and auction sales and donations from generous individuals. Wow.

In the crush of leaving for the holidays, I have not yet been able to find out whether the city of Dunedin voted affirmatively yesterday to give the artists free use of a city-owned building behind the Daily News deli. This would be a temporary studio fix for the displaced Imago crew; the city expects to sell the building to a developer next year, per vice mayor Deborah Kynes.

Here’s a post on the PAVA (Pinellas Association of Visual Artists) artists’ blog that recaps the fire.

The final tally on the Imago Artists Fundraiser
was an amazing $38,000. Humongous thanks to everyone who made it possible. We are able to continue creating art because of your largesse.

The Imago artists are in temporary studios graciously provided by the City of Dunedin. Located at 620 Main Street (across from Mease Hospital), we have resumed the monthly First Friday open house. Our next one will be May 2, 6:30-9pm.
